Here you can use tags to search for stories around particular themes, or with particular types of people in them – usually these are for general occupations or attributes of their lives. It’s also a way to make a quick note of which themes you’d rather not read about, domestic violence or suicide for example being two which can be difficult for a large number of people at times.
You might notice that “school” and “educators” are both present; “school” is a tag used exclusively for those who are buried underneath the National School’s nursery extension.
“Armed forces” distinguishes between those who served and those who served and died while in service – those stories will have the “war grave” tag.
Tod born and bred folk may be horrified at how often the “offcumden” tag is used, but hey, don’t yell at us because the place has always been popular for outsiders. We’re late to the party on this one.
